Who we are

The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) is a non-profit, mission driven organisation, with an ever-growing membership alliance of forward-thinking companies and institutions from across the built environment sector.
We launched at the Palace of Westminster in 2011 with 9 founder members. Our membership now totals well over 100 progressive organisations, including world-renowned research institutions, trade bodies, architectural practices, contractors, and product manufacturers from start-ups and innovators, to market-leading multinational companies.
Our mission
“To lead the transformation to a healthy low carbon built environment by championing the understanding and use of demonstrably sustainable building products.”
Team and board
Our team continues to grow, with 8 staff members now supporting our activities.
We have a vastly experienced and diverse group of board members who we work closely with. They advise on strategy, help to scope our activities, author technical briefing papers and judge the annual ASBP Awards.

What our members say
“I would like to express my gratitude to the ASBP for all the hard work you do in defining what sustainable construction could and should be. Given the love and effort that I have put into my retrofit project it meant a lot to me (and my family) to win an ASBP Award.โ
Harry Paticas MBE
Founder, Retrofit Action For Tomorrow (RAFT)
โI thought the Healthy Buildings Conference was excellent โ one of the best conference Iโve been to in years. Interesting, stimulating talks and really good networking. I definitely agree that it should become an annual fixture โ it really is the next big topic.โ

Credible sustainability standards are an essential tool for continuous improvement of the built environment. ย Our focus is upon product standards such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), eco-labels, and health labels and with how these standards are valued in โbalanced-score cardโ approaches such as BREEAM, LEED and WELL.
ASBP is the UK representative of the association natureplus. The natureplus eco-label sets stringent sustainability criteria for the accreditation ofย construction products, with a focus on material sourcing, health & wellbeing aspects and embodied carbon, amongst others.ย For more information, visitย www.natureplus.org.

Join our Alliance
The ASBP is an independent, alliance of organisations that share a common goal of increasing the quality, health and sustainability of the built environment.ย Membership is available to organisations motivated to join us in progressing this agenda.
