Studio Polpo

Studio Polpo is an art, architecture and research practice and the UK's first architectural practice established as a social enterprise. We work primarily with the arts and community led sector, with projects ranging from new-build co-housing to small retrofit projects, and installations including a space in British Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, to a small mycelium structure. We have close links to a number of universities through teaching and initiated, and are currently supporting, the Sheffield Community Land Trust.

What encouraged you to become a member of ASBP?ย We have long been interested in the use of low-carbon products in our work, and recently have explored projects engaging more deeply with waste and the circular economy. Although some of us have attended ASBP talks at times, and we were shortlisted for the ASBP 2023 Awards for our Heeley Mushroom project, we feel that we should take part in and support the ASBP more formally.
