Earthborn was founded back in 2002, with the aim of providing a true environmentally friendly alternative to conventional paints. Since then we have worked hard to build a trusted reputation for performance with style.
Taking a holistic approach to environmental issues we consider not only what goes into the paint but also, perhaps more importantly, what comes out. Therefore all ingredients are carefully considered before being chosen, ensuring that our paints remain free from any nasties. To further substantiate the eco-credentials, Earthborn became the proud holder of the first UK licence of The EU Ecolabel for Indoor Paints and Varnishes, an independent accreditation scheme.
We have marketed our paints successfully on the fact that they are high-performance paints, with lots of special and unique attributes such as durability, breathability and no nasty smells. But over and above that they are also eco-friendly!
What encouraged you to become a member of ASBP?
We became a member of the ASBP to help us keep updated with environmental and sustainable activities happening in the building & construction sector. We also wanted to be among like-minded organisations that also care about the impact they play in the future of the environment.
The working groups, briefing papers and seminars have proved very helpful. Although paint is a smaller focus, it still has an impact in the overall build, so it is helpful for us to be aware of changes happening in the industry and hopefully take learnings from other companies along the way.
