ASBP Innovation Pitch Series - Building Services

Thursday 28th January, 11:00-12:30

The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP), in collaboration with the ASBP Plastics in Construction Group, has launched an exciting new innovation pitch series.

Aimed at innovators, start-ups and manufacturers launching new product ranges, the purpose of the innovation pitch series is to identify innovative alternatives to conventional plastic building materials and packaging. The products can be at any stage of the innovation cycle from early development to market ready.

Please join us on Thursday 28th January, 11:00-12:30 for another round of the ASBP Innovation Pitch Series, focused on innovative alternatives to conventional building services products.

Meet our Judges

Gilli Hobbs is a freelance Sustainability & Circular Economy Advisor, with nearly 30 years’ experience working across various areas of sustainability, mostly related to the built environment, including resource efficiency, low carbon buildings and products, lean construction, renewable energy technologies and sustainable communities, in the UK and overseas.

Louise Hamot is Global Lead of Life Cycle Research, Integral Group. With degrees in both architecture and engineering, Louise leads the development of Integral Group’s global Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) practice. Supporting colleagues involved in LCA work across North America, Australia, and Europe, Louise advises design teams on materials selection and design strategies to improve their environmental impact and leads the firm’s research and development of LCA for building services, including Integral’s own contribution to global warming.

Hannah Jones is founding director at Greengauge Building Energy Consultants. Having gained experience with a large engineering consultancy, Hannah increasingly felt that building services was not joined up to building design, leading to overly complex solutions, not suitable for the building use or occupants. Ten years ago she joined forces with building physicist and engineer, Toby Cambray to create Greengauge, a consultancy with a more integrated approach. Hannah’s hopes for the built environment – “For all buildings to be Passivhaus standard and beyond. And to change to a more fundamental assumption of sustainable growth. I do not believe we can continue to consume as we currently do.”
