Following our Dragons’ EcoDen® event on 17th September 2020, our Plastics in Construction Group member, the Accord Housing Association, launches their real-life project aiming for plastic-free homes. These two events form part of the free on-line UK CHARM Inspiration Days (from 14th to 18th September 2020) and focus on reducing plastics in construction.
Our webinar at 11.00 is the second in our Dragons’ EcoDen® series and throws a spotlight on innovative alternatives to fossil-fuel based plastic packaging.
In the afternoon, Carl Taylor will present a project of virtually plastic-free homes being built by Accord using timber frame modern methods of construction from its LoCaL Homes factory. A virtual tour of this facility on 18th September and is the final event of the UK CHARM Inspiration Days.
The Accord project aims to develop a low carbon, low plastic model for providing affordable homes on a large scale. It is the result of partnership working with Redditch Borough Council and is part of the Interreg funded CHARM (Circular Housing Asset Renovation & Management) partnership.
