Event summary
Interest in sustainable building products, in particular nature-based solutions, is higher than ever. Manufacturers are increasingly adopting Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for their products, which provide environmental information in a standardised format using a consistent methodology. However, they do not always allow for easy product comparison.
In addition, ‘greenwashing’ is on the rise with research by the CMA finding that up to 40% of green claims made online could be misleading. How can specifiers cut through the greenwash and make informed product choices?
There are a number of new databases and tools that encourage manufacturers to showcase their products transparently, and allow specifiers to find and compare readily available, accurate product information. In addition, Bioregional is working with the UN Environment Programme on an ambitious project to develop a ‘Global Policy Hub on Sustainable Buildings and Construction Materials’. Join us at this lunchtime webinar to find out more.
