‘Straw in the Wind’ wins LFA ‘Eco Home Pavilion’ competition

Thomas Randall-Page and Lucas Facer have been chosen to design the temporary ‘Eco Home Pavilion’ a the London Festival of Architecture. The pavilion will be built of EcoCocon straw panels, and demonstrates the structural and environmental properties of straw as a modern construction material. The temporary building is set to be built in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral in the spring of 2024, and has been designed to be deconstructed and reused.

The project team includes Phineas Harper (curation), New Architecture Writers (residence and curation), Buro Happold (structural engineering) as well as our member Barbara Jones of The School of Natural Building and EcoCocon. Barbara will lead on sustainability and construction.
