Littlepits – Buckinghamshire Passivhaus

"Littlepits is a replacement dwelling house, set in the Green Belt, within the Chilterns. It is certified Passivhaus Plus making it one of only a handful of projects with this performance rating in the UK. It is constructed from the innovative PH15 System, a complete Passivhaus construction solution which delivers all the essential components required to meet the Passivhaus energy-efficient standard. The house includes a Passivhaus certified basement construction from Glatthaar. The house design meets the Chiltern design guide and demonstrates that a local vernacular style can be compatible with the highest sustainability standards and address all the requirements of building in sensitive settings."

Technical Performance

Project highlight:ย The judges were very impressed with the technical performance of the building. The building is only one of a handful of UK projects to receive Passivhaus Plus certification, which means the house generates sufficient renewable energy to meet its annual energy needs. The project also recorded an extremely impressive airtightness test result ofย 0.07ach @50Pa, whilst showcasing a range of natural materials including timber, cellulose and sheep's wool.
