ASBP’s Innovation Pitch returns! Seeking pioneers in plastic reduction in the construction industry

The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP), in partnership with the ASBP Reducing Plastics in Construction Group, proudly announces the commencement of Round 2 of its Innovation Pitch. This initiative aims to spotlight innovations in reducing plastics in construction.

Building upon the success of its inaugural series, ASBP extends a warm invitation to innovators, startups, and manufacturers to participate. The competition seeks visionary solutions to eliminate, reduce, reuse of recycle plastics in construction.

Key details of the competition include:

  • Objective: To highlight innovation in plastic elimination, reuse, replacement, and recycling, while spotlighting organisations and individuals exemplifying best practices in reducing plastics in construction.
  • Eligibility: Open to UK and European-based organisations or individuals with innovations or innovative approaches targeting the plastics issue in construction.
  • Criteria: Any innovation aiding in the elimination, reuse, replacement, or recycling of plastics in construction is eligible. Entries may range from early-stage development to market-ready or recently launched products or services.
  • Application Process: Entrants are required to complete an application form and provide a brief description of their innovation within a 500-word limit. Successful applicants will subsequently be invited to submit a short video (not exceeding two minutes) further detailing their innovation.
  • Timeline: Submissions are open until June 16, 2024, followed by an initial shortlisting process. Finalists will be announced by the end of June, with the culminating event, the ASBP Reducing Plastics in Construction Summit, scheduled for July, 2024.

Participants in the Innovation Pitch Series stand to gain valuable exposure and recognition:

  • Shortlisted entries will receive profile coverage on the ASBP website.
  • Finalists will benefit from extensive exposure, including a profile on the ASBP website, accompanying social media campaigns, and a presentation slot during the ASBP’s Reducing Plastics in Construction Summit.
  • Winners will enjoy additional perks such as a dedicated case study on the ASBP website, a display certificate, and an ASBP-branded winners logo/icon for use in marketing materials.
