Arup engineers and The Built Environment Trust have teamed up to discover how we might apply Circular Economy principles to housing and construction projects. The Circular House is a prototype for a new housing typology where all components and materials are designed to be recovered and re-used at the buildings end-of-life. By building with circular processes, systems and materials the construction industry can make big steps towards a more sustainable built environment.
Built for the London Design Festival 2016, The Circular House will be accompanied by an exhibition exploring the impact of the Circular Economy in a range of industries, from fashion to product design. The exhibition and installation is free to visit.
