Sustainable Bio and Waste Resources for Construction

As part of a call for projects launched by the Interreg VA France (Channel) England European Territorial Cooperation program, ASBP and its French and English partners have been selected to carry out the Sustainable Bio&Waste Resources for Construction (SB&WRC) project. It aims at developing prototypes of construction materials based on bio-resources and recycled waste.

The INTERREG VA France (Channel) England programme is a Cross Border European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) Programme, which aims at supporting the development of the France (Channel) England area, in line with the goals of the 2020 Europe strategy to create jobs and encourage smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The European Union (ERDF) will fund 69% of the project budget, which amounts to €1.8 million overall.

The ASBP pleased to be co-leader for communication for the project and we will feed back all the latest project developments over the next two years through seminars and newsletters. Gary Newman will also lend his expertise for the design of the prototypes, having had 20 years of experience in developing new bio-based products.

Next up, we're meeting up with our project partners at the University of Bath to see what progress they have made with their prototype development.

You can keep up with the latest project updates at www.construction21.org.
