Recovery Insulation Ltd. is a social enterprise/for profit share capitol company established in 2002 by Schools & Homes Energy Education Project/Solar-Active with financial support from Key Fund South Yorkshire and others.
Since 2002, we have been selling and distributing Inno-Therm®, a low carbon thermal/acoustic non-itch insulation made from recycled cotton/denim fibres. As a social enterprise, we stand apart from other insulation companies in donating a proportion of our sales income to the education charity Schools & Homes Energy Education Project/Solar-active to conduct renewable energy and energy efficiency activities in educational establishments, youth groups and general public.
In April 2007, we featured in the BBC series, ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green’ and 'DIY SOS' in November 2010. We were selected in 2014 by Kevin McCloud as one of his 10 eco-innovation green heroes. Our acoustic insulation has been specified in a number of low carbon buildings and used in the International Broadcast Center (NBC News) for the Summer and Winter Olympic Games since 2012 and soon to be used in Tokyo 2020. In 2019, all the electricity used for the manufacturing process is 100% solar powered.
