Joanna Saady

Joanna is the founding director of Ecotecture Ecological Design ltd, a Chartered Architects Practice specialising in sustainable and historic design.  Jo was an early pioneer of green building joining the Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) in 1995 after qualifying and serving as a trustee on the board during the set up of the Passivhaus Trust. She has an MSC in Energy Efficient Building and a PG Cert in Conservation of the Historic Environment. Jo is passionate about conservation and sustainability, believing that they are far closer than is universally accepted and that our past can play a huge role in how the future develops to face the challenges of climate change.

She currently serves as a Trustee on the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) where she represents Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Chair of IHBC South East Branch, panel member on Eastbourne Conservation Advisory Group and most recently has joined the South Downs National Park Design Panel. Her firm Ecotecture delivers projects including house retrofits, bespoke one off house designs, master planning, all types of listed buildings, community and commercial projects developing a range of practical design solutions in traditional, historic, and contemporary buildings.
