The July Green Register Twighlight Talk features Erika Suzuki and Anders Strand Luhr of ASBP Members Office Ten Architecture. They will be talking about the newly launched Greenest House initiative. The Greenest House approach is focused on making the most of existing buildings, improving them in a way that makes sense for the environment, and making sure that all participants benefit. It is not only focused on creating an environmentally sustainable model, but also an economically sustainable model, so that changes can be made on a larger scale.
The Greenest House model reinvests value unlocked through thoughtful redevelopment directly into the building itself. Upgrades include enhanced insulation, triple glazing, solar panels, and air source heat pumps. This model can reduce a home’s space heating demand by up to 90%, cutting both carbon emissions and energy bills. Furthermore, it enables residents to access benefits such as reduced council tax and green mortgages. Too often, the social and environmental costs of poor housing are ignored. We believe in a future where economic, social, and ecological sustainability go hand in hand.
This initiative is supported by ASBP Members: Adaptavate, Brouns, Cleveland Steel & Tubes, EcoDuct, and SisalWool.
