ASBP Director Richard Broad has joined the Advisory Panel for the Centre for Advanced Built Environment Research (CABER) at the University of the West of England (UWE).
The Advisory Panel will support CABER’s mission to:
‘Push the frontiers of knowledge to develop exciting and innovative cross-disciplinary research towards a sustainable, resilient and just built environment for all.’
Richard’s role will include providing strategic level guidance and advice for research focus and engagement activities, and assisting CABER to ensure that research has real impact in industry, policy and society. Appointments to the advisory panel will be for three years with a first meeting set to take place in September 2025.
Examples of current CABER research projects include:
- Let’s design more sustainably! A novel approach to automated life cycle design for prefabricated buildings
- Low carbon residential retrofit: Considering the resident as well as the carbon
- SmartBioC – “Accelerating the uptake of circular biobased materials to provide zero-carbon, healthy and socially and economically viable solutions for the construction industry”. ASBP is an industrial partner for this project which is led by Dr Hector Archila Santos.
