Vastern Timber specialises in British grown timber, manufacturing beams, cladding and flooring. Supplying both trade and retail customers, it is the largest hardwood sawmilling company in the UK. Vastern Timber owns and operates two sites in Wiltshire, where they sawmill and process upwards of 9000 m3 of logs per year. The family-owned firm has worked with local timber since 1903 and believes it still makes sense to do so, but also has an eye to innovation, developing the first British grown thermally modified timber Brimstone. They keep large stocks of homegrown timber, offering short lead times and plenty to choose from.
What encouraged you to become a member of ASBP?
Vastern Timber has worked with local timber for over a century and hopes to continue this tradition. Timber is a renewable resource that can replace more carbon-intensive materials. Timber sourced from local and well-managed woodlands is a naturally sustainable building product. We joined the ASBP to promote and support the transition to sustainable construction.
