WoodBUILD 2021 (Webinar): Reducing Embodied Carbon – a housing primer

Date: Wednesday 27th October   Time: 10:00-11:30   Location:

Join Woodknowledge Wales and the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) for a webinar on how to meet the new Welsh Development Quality Requirements to consider upfront and embodied carbon and report whole life carbon emissions post-completion.

The need for high-performance homes to reduce energy bills, enable renewable forms of heating and consequently save carbon is challenging but reasonably well understood. However, what about the other 50% (approx.) of the carbon emissions that are associated with the material supply chains, design and build process, maintenance and end of life? How can we reduce these embodied carbon emissions? This webinar, held in partnership with the ASBP, highlights the importance of considering upfront and embodied carbon emissions and explores how to reduce them.
