The Sustainable Traditional Buildings Alliance, in conjunction with the Institute of Historic Building Conservation, brings you a free webinar that explores the role of natural materials in achieving compliant and effective retrofit solutions, with a focus on building standards, regulations, and certification.

During this highly informative session Professor John Edwards will explore the system performance differences of modern and traditional buildings, and the risks of applying modern materials & methods to traditional buildings, as well as the risk-based approach to retrofit and use of PAS-2035, PAS-2038 and more.
Anthony Gwynne will then discuss the Building Regulations and approved documents as they relate to the retrofit of traditional buildings, looking at independent certification schemes for materials and methods, and providing an overview of the Building Safety Act.
The third speaker is Ruth Marie Mackrodt, who will go through the process of setting up as a new insulation supplier, from start up and product innovation through to supply chain integration, finding installers and specifiers. Ruth will also explore some of the barriers to product certification and guarantees.
