The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) has published its 2025 End of Year Summary, showcasing a year of steady growth, expanded collaboration, and continued leadership in promoting a healthier, low-carbon built environment.
ASBP increased its membership to 170 organisations and welcomed new Patron members, further strengthening its cross-sector network. The organisation also developed new partnerships with a range of industry bodies, research organisations, and government stakeholders, enabling greater collaboration and knowledge exchange across the construction sector.
Throughout 2025, ASBP worked on and delivered a diverse portfolio of research and innovation projects. These included the completion of the IMPACTT project, which explored biodiversity within timber supply chains, and progress on tools to support better decision-making around embodied carbon in construction. New research programmes were also launched, including work investigating how artificial intelligence can help scale the reuse of structural steel, alongside studies addressing fire safety and resilience in timber buildings.
Engagement and knowledge-sharing remained at the heart of ASBP’s activities. The organisation hosted a wide programme of in-person and online events, including its flagship Healthy Buildings Conference, as well as webinars and industry sessions that attracted strong attendance and high satisfaction ratings. ASBP also continued to expand its reach through digital channels, with significant growth in website traffic, social media engagement, and newsletter readership.
The Reuse Now campaign built further momentum in its second full year, with a series of webinars, events, and new guidance aimed at overcoming barriers to material reuse in construction. Meanwhile, ASBP’s Communities of Practice, covering topics such as natural fibre insulation, paints and finishes, plastics reduction, and lime products, continued to bring together industry leaders to share expertise and drive forward practical solutions.
Alongside this, ASBP played an active role in policy engagement, contributing to discussions with government departments and supporting the development of future standards, including the Future Homes Standard.
Looking ahead to 2026, ASBP aims to build on this strong foundation by deepening its impact, expanding its research and partnerships, and continuing to champion the use of demonstrably sustainable building products across the industry.
