Innovate UK KTN and DESNZ invited ASBP members and wider industry to a 1-hr webinar on Phase 3 of the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund.
About the fund
The Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF) is designed to help businesses with high energy use to cut their energy bills and carbon emissions through investing in energy efficiency and low carbon technologies.
The IETF launched in 2020 and is in 3 phases, with ยฃ500 million of funding available up until 2028. Phase 3 of the IETF provides grant funding for feasibility and engineering studies, and for the deployment of industrial energy efficiency and deep decarbonisation projects.
We were joined on the webinar by Jenni McDonnell MBE, Knowledge Transfer Manager (Thermal Energy Systems) at Innovate UK KTN, who introduced the fund and provided further information on how to apply, eligibility, application deadlines, and more.
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) manages the IETF for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. If your site is based in Scotland, there is a separate scheme: contact the Scottish Government at SIETF@gov.scot.
Phase 3 opened for applications on Monday 29th January and closes on 19th April 2024. There will be a second competition window later in 2024. Phase 3 will provide up to ยฃ185 million in funding between 2024 and 2028.
To register for the IETF Phase 3: Spring 2024 competition, applicants must complete a short registration form.
