The refurbished Training Centre was opened on 22nd June 2009 by Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. The site is still the family home of the founders of Ty-Mawr, Nigel and Joyce Gervis and their children, and is an ongoing restoration project.
