About the event
Doors carry semiotic, architectural and societal importance. Their design, use and potential for reuse are shaped by multiple factors, including their function, the type of building they are installed in, their use profile, specific performance requirements, the materials from which they are made, and their traceability.
What can appear on the surface to be a simple product with obvious reuse potential is, in practice, far more complex. As a result, any reuse pathway needs to take these differences into account and be tailored to maximise both the potential for reuse and the likelihood of successful outcomes. This makes doors an ideal product category through which to explore the wider challenges and opportunities associated with the reuse of construction products.
The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) and the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) have produced a comprehensive guide on the reuse of internal doors. Join us at this webinar where we will discuss the guide and hear from key contributors, with Q&A and a panel discussion.
Part of ASBP’s Reuse Now campaign, the guide is the second in a series of deep dives into the reuse of building products, following the ‘Reuse of Glass Partitioning Systems’ guide published in 2025.
