Doors carry semiotic, architectural and societal importance. Their design and potential for reuse are shaped by multiple factors, the function, the type of building, the use profile, specific performance requirements, the materials it is made from and the traceability that sits behind it. What can appear, on the surface, to be a simple product with obvious reuse potential is, in practice, far more complex. As a result, any reuse pathway must take these differences into account and be tailored to maximise both the potential and the success of reuse. This is what makes it an ideal product category to help consider reuse of construction products.
The Alliance for Sustainable Building Products (ASBP) and the Finishes and Interiors Sector (FIS) have produced a comprehensive guide on the reuse of internal doors. Join us at this webinar where we will discuss the guide and hear from key contributors including a panel and Q&A.
Part of ASBP’s Reuse Now campaign, the guide is the second to be produced as part of a series of deep dives on the reuse of building products, following on from the ‘Reuse of Glass Partitioning Systems’ in 2025.
