The natureplus Late Lunch Sessions “Rebuilding Transformation” will continue in 2026, with a particular focus on housing construction. In upcoming sessions, we will explore how life cycle assessment is applied to existing buildings, how renovation can be implemented in a modular, cost-effective, and future-proof manner, and what potential arises in municipal housing construction through conversion and development of existing buildings.
Following this, we will address a new topic currently generating intense discussion: How can we create socially responsible and sustainable housing – using environmentally friendly materials and climate-friendly construction methods and materials?
Sessions for 2026:
12:00-12:45 GMT, 13:00-13:45 CET (in German unless otherwise stated)
28.01.26 | Ökobilanz im Bestand – Methoden für klimawirksame Bauentscheidungen
Life cycle assessment of existing buildings – methods for climate-friendly construction decisions.
Life cycle assessment (LCA) reveals which construction decisions for existing buildings truly have an impact. Jonathan Woytowicz presents findings from the climate protection project “BauKlima-Kommunal” (Municipal Building Climate), in which municipal buildings were scientifically monitored to make renovation, new construction, and demolition comparable – across energy consumption, material use, embodied energy, and greenhouse gas emissions. The project brings administration, planning, and research together and creates a reliable basis for decision-making in municipal construction processes. In this way, LCA becomes a tool that refines strategies for existing buildings and provides concrete support for sustainable solutions.
25.02.26 | Serielle Sanierung – Modular, wirtschaftlich, zukunftssicher
25.03.26 | Wohnungsbau in Kommunen – Potenziale im Umbau
