Green Register: Insulation That Grows – Industrial Hemp and the Future of Low-Carbon Construction

In this Green Register Twilight Talk, ASBP Members, IndiNature, will explore how bio-based materials can reduce embodied carbon, unlock funding opportunities, and meet modern building specification standards, without compromising comfort or safety. They’ll share insights from scaling up the UK’s first dedicated plant-fibre insulation mill and show how natural materials can help futureproof construction for people and planet. 

About the Speakers:

Ele George is Industry Collaboration Lead at IndiNature, a UK manufacturer of carbon-negative hemp insulation. An award-winning sustainability engineer, she brings 20 years of experience in low-carbon construction, retrofit and regenerative design. 

Áine Scott  is an Architectural Technologist at IndiNature. Áine has a passion for sustainable construction and retrofit, particularly in historic buildings. She gained her BSc in Architectural Technology at Edinburgh Napier University and has an MSc in History, Heritage & Politics Technical Building Conservation.
