About this event

Hosted by the ACAN Natural Materials group

Are you keen to specify natural materials but aren’t sure where to start? Do you already work with natural materials and are looking to expand your knowledge? Join us at the monthly Natural Materials events series to learn the crucial role natural materials play in a positive future for our planet – and how to use them on your projects.

Natural materials are durable, improve the microclimate of indoor spaces, and are better for your health and the environment! Natural materials and finishes are not only VOC free but can also offer better performance than their chemically-engineered counterparts. For example, the hygroscopic behaviour of some natural finishes allows them to passively regulate the humidity of your indoor environment, minimising mould and fungal growth. And it’s not just physical health, research has shown that natural materials have a beneficial effect on our mental health too.
