Back to Earth seek Technical Sales & Specification Advisor

Back to Earth was started in 1995 by Chris Brookman, a Chemistry graduate, and was originally a building company specialising construction with sustainable materials such as cob and lime. By 2007 the business had morphed into a materials supplier at which point Back to Earth’s sole business was supplying sustainable building materials.

The current vacancy is for a Technical Sales & Specification Advisor to give technical advice and specifying sustainable building materials for a variety of applications via telephone and email. A knowledge of U-Values and construction is essential and knowledge of Hygrothermal calculations would be beneficial. This role is full time and based in our office on the outskirts of Exeter with the opportunity for mixed hybrid working.  For the right candidate part time working may also be  accommodated. There may be occasions when travel throughout the UK is required to attend trade shows.

Two Job opportunities from RAFT: Project Architect and Services Engineer

Project Architect

 Retrofit Action for Tomorrow:is seeking a Project Architect with 5 years + experience to join their passionate team and contribute to exciting and innovative retrofit projects across the UK. An ideal candidate will have relevant experience in retrofit and community engagement, and be confident in a project management role, where they will be learning new skills and developing new approaches to retrofit in collaboration with the wider team at RAFT.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Workspace: Hybrid – Part-time work at RAFT office in Waterloo or work from home. Available From: May. Salary Range: £44k to £48k. Contract: Permanent

Services Engineer 

This core role is to assist RAFT with services design for retrofit projects from earlystage heat decarbonisation plans and detailed design through to delivery, soft landings, and post occupancy evaluation. You will be designing heat pump systems, MVHR, lighting and assessing and mitigating overheating. You will receive support and bespoke on-project training from the experienced PassivHaus designer and engineer Alan Clarke.
Hours: 40 hours per week. Workspace: Hybrid – Part-time work at RAFT office in Waterloo or work from home. Available From: May Salary Range: £38k to £42k
