We are pleased to announce that ASBP members can now benefit from discounts from two of the major Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) tool providers in the UK.
New partnerships with One Click LCA and BRE will make EPD more accessible for SMEs and in turn accelerate uptake of EPD within the construction industry. Interest in EPD is growing and at the start of 2022, there were over 450 ‘manufacturer specific’ EPD covering a wide range of construction products. Globally there are over 12,000 EPD verified to EN15804, the European standard for EPD for construction products.
Awareness of EPD within the ASBP membership is strong and a new database of members’ EPD was launched earlier this year. However, uptake by SME manufacturers and innovators remains relatively low with a survey of ASBP members in 2021 finding that upfront costs were the main perceived barrier. It is hoped the new partnerships will help overcome the barriers and see a rise in EPD for low carbon, resource efficient and healthy products.
One Click LCA Pre-Verified EPD Generator

One Click LCA Pre-verified EPD Generator is an automated and affordable tool to develop robust EN 15804+A2 compliant Environmental Product Declarations. BRE LINA
ASBP members can receive a 3-month subscription to BRE’s LINA tool at a discounted rate** of £2,500. The LINA tool is usually offered on a 1-year subscription and this cost-effective offer is largely aimed at SMEs looking to create 1 or 2 EPD. Users of the tool will receive a 2-hour training session and ongoing support throughout their EPD projects.
BRE LINA is an online life cycle assessment (LCA) tool that gives product manufacturers the ability to create automated draft EPDs from simple data entry drop downs. The results can then be used to submit EN15804 EPD for verification and issue by BRE Global’s membership based verified EPD scheme.
