Excess Materials Exchange are proud to be a sponsor of the Reuse Now Initiative. Since its formation in 2017, the EME Platform operates as a ‘Dating site’ for materials, having worked across different sectors and continents to increase the value of materials which otherwise get downcycled or go to waste.
Since 2021, the EME have successfully partnered with Enfield Council to facilitate reuse of construction materials within their £6bn regeneration scheme, Meridian Water. Since then, the EME platform has matured with new product features to not only capture digital product passports, but now also features track and trace technology and an AI engine, enabling greater functionality and matchmaking. The new platform also has the ability for cross-platform searches and auctions. In April 2024, the EME launched across the UK, and now have numerous customers, enabling greater visibility of both supply and demand.
