David Cheshire

David is Regional Sustainability Director at AECOM and provides sustainability advice on projects with clients such as the LSE, The Crown Estate, M&G Real Estate and Schroders.

David was the author of CIBSE TM56: Resource efficiency of building services – a joint CIBSE/WRAP publication; the lead author of CIBSE Guide L: Sustainability, the editor of CIBSE Guide F: Energy Efficiency in Buildings and led the work on Target Zero, a research project on cost effective routes to zero carbon and high BREEAM ratings (targetzero.info).

David is also the author of Building Revolutions, a book for RIBA on applying circular economy thinking to buildings.

David will introduce the circular economy concept and its relationship with health and wellbeing, including examples of the overlaps between the two agendas:

  • Biophilia and materials choices
  • Using non-toxic materials (e.g. biocomposites, C2C)
  • Biomimicry through 3D printing
