Embodied Carbon as an Allowable Solution

Date:    Time: 18:00 - 19:30   Location:

Guy Battle, Director, Sustainable Business Partnership, and co-ordinator for the Embodied Carbon Industry Task Force, has teamed up with Simon Sturgis, Sturgis Carbon Profiling, to model a pair of new-build homes to establish benchmarks for embodied carbon and allowable solutions.  The model will then allow products to be substituted to understand carbon abatement opportunities and costs and to start defining approved methods.

This exercise aims to prove the model, prove the carbon savings and offer an auditable process. A further 4 sites are being investigated by the Zero Carbon Hub.

This event will seek feedback from the industry on the model and its use, with a view to informing the Zero Carbon Hub’s outputs on Allowable Solutions, due to be completed by April 2015.
